A McAllen girl, 17, has been charged with two felony counts of intoxication assault in a crash that pinned a boy, 13, under a police car.
She was arraigned Sunday. Her bail was set at $100,000, police said, adding she has since been released.
An officer was on the side of the road questioning two boys about a curfew violation when she struck the patrol car, according to police. One teen was standing next to the car, while the other boy was sitting on the curb.
The force of impact pushed the vehicle about 12 feet onto the curb, pinning the boy underneath.
The boy was hospitalized with injuries to his ankle, pelvis and possibly his spine. The other teen was not hurt.
While police are unable to determine how fast the car was going, there were no skid marks present.
